Career Workshop @ Fleminton Community Centre
The Career Link Workshop Series is a TEN week program, aimed at increasing Flemington resident’s knowledge of the Australian employment system and culture and will assist them to be better prepared when applying for jobs and attending interviews.
The project will be focussing on six main industries and will assist participants to develop resumes, apply for available positions and practice mock interviews in the following areas:
- Security
- Warehousing
- Aged Care
- Childcare
- Building and Construction
- Hospitality
The project will be offering FREE First Aid/ CPR certificates, and will look into providing free RSA and food handling certificates as well (depending on the need).
Participants will receive free compendiums to take to interviews and have a chance to practice interview questions and even interview an employer to get a better idea of how that employer would expect an applicant to respond.
We will also include an Industry Tasters Day trip so participants can have a look at what it’s like to work in those particular industries.
Due to this, there are only 20 places available, and residents will need to be available to attend all ten days of the workshop.
There will be an ENROLMENT SESSION next Tuesday 16 February at 1pm at the Flemington Community Centre, 25 Mt Alexander Road, Flemington, where those who are interested will be provided with more information and will be asked to complete a Career Link registration form and a short questionnaire to better tailor the workshops to suit needs.
