SHAPE Australia brings all types of spaces to life by delivering high-end fitouts, complex refurbishments and specialist construction projects. And we’ve been doing it for nearly 30 years for clients across Australia.
We are looking for the newest wave of SHAPIANs to join our constructive culture and through SHAPE’s Building Cadet Experience you will be fast tracking your learning by combining work, study, and having fun along the way.The Opportunity
A Building Cadet is a learning role supporting our project delivery teams to deliver a perfectly delivered customer experience across pre-construction, onsite throughout construction and post-construction phases.
We will work with you to create a flexible working plan to allow you to continue to study while you work.
You will get hands-on experience with real responsibilities and a tailored learning plan to gain exposure to skills that you can’t always learn in a text book. The experience will kick off in July 2019 with an induction week held in NSW to learn about SHAPE, your role, and find out more about the experience.About you
It’s important to us that you are the right fit to join our team, but just as important that SHAPE is the right place for you.
We’re looking for Building Cadets who are studying either Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar, match our values, have a passion for construction and a willingness to learn. Our preference for people in their 3rd or 4th year of studies, but still apply if you are in your 1st or 2nd year as we always want to hear from great people.Life at SHAPE
When we ask SHAPIANs what makes SHAPE better, they always say ‘the people’ (and the snacks). Our people work hard together, but also celebrate together, laugh together, learn together, dance together, and support each other. While we’re a pretty close and relaxed bunch, we are focused on providing a superb customer experience. You will also get access to our great suite of Benefits and Perks, some of them are:
- Exposure to fast paced commercial fit-outs.
- Experiencing a supportive, fun and social environment.
- Your professional development being invested in.
- Access to financial assistance to pay back your HELP.
- Being rewarded through our Employee Share and Project Bonus Schemes.
- Flexibility around your study commitments.
- Health and wellbeing benefits.
Basically, if you can’t have a laugh at yourself then this is probably not the job for you.The application process
If this sounds like your dream job, please complete our application form and don‘t forget to attach a copy of your CV, transcript and cover letter. To help us learn more about you, we will send you a link to an application survey.
